Hi - I am seeking info about a relative J M N Thornton who was a bomb aimer with the Squadron shortly after it formed in 1942. He later went on to serve with 75 Squadron.

Where can I get info about his service - does the Squadron have a war diary I could research for his sorties? We don't have a log book or anything like that.

Rumour has it that he was stood down from an operation and that the crew he would have been with were shot down over holland/belgium - and since that the local village has excavated the prop from the Wellington and made a memorial to that crew. Is it possible to find out where that might be - a lucky escape form him as he survived the war.

Thanks in advance for any help
Tudor Rees
