Mission Date: 19/04/1942
Mission Comments: Eight aircraft were employed on sea mining operations, from which P/O FOX and crew failed to return. Scattered fire like burning aircraft seen by W/Cdr HEATH on TERSCHELLING Island. F/O PINION mistook WARBOYS aerodrome for base on return and landed with mines on short runway, over-running at end and colliding with hedge.

T/o Alconbury 2107. Presumed lost over the sea.
On 21 April, the body of F/S Brady was found near kmp 5 and he was buried the next day on Ameland in the island's Nes General Cemetery.
Two days later, the London Gazette published details of his immediate DFM, awarded for his exceptional devotion to duty while on operations to Koln earlier in the month.
The rest of the crew are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.

T/o 2115 Alconbury. On return, the pilot landed at Warboys and ran off the end of the runway.
At the time he was under the impression that he had arrived at Wyton, which had a much longer runway!.
Initially it was thought the damage was repairable, but a technical examination revealed this was impracticable and the bomber was struck off charge on 25 April 1942
