156 Squadron Mission Details
Target: Worms
Mission Date: 21/02/1945
Mission Comments: 12 aircraft detailed for an attack on WORMS. One aircraft (F/LT Grant) bombed a secondary German target. One of his engines caught fire, but he carried on and later found he would be 20 minutes late on the primary target. 11 aircraft attacked in clear weather with slight ground haze. A good concentration of marking was formed, and bombing appeared well aimed at the markers. Explosions were observed in the target area. Several good fires were seen burning up to 50 miles away on the homeward route.
