Contributors Comments Lichfield, Staffordshire, England. Sergeant (Sgt) Harry J. A. Wright and Sgt Don Charlwood enjoying a hamper from home during training at Tatenhill. Sgt Wright survived seventy eight Bomber Command operations over Europe, nearly all on Lancasters. He became Navigation Leader of No. 156 Squadron, RAF, of the Pathfinder Force. He finished as Squadron Leader and during his service attained the Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) for a night attack on Modane in September 1943 and the Bar to the DFC for a consistently high standard of leadership and courage, and was also awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal for a large number of targets in Germany and Italy.
