11/07/1944  Tuesday  Three Battle Orders issued today for daylight operations. 7 aircraft detailed for a raid on CAPENNE C/WORKS. This was caried out in the form of a precision attack with W/C Somerville of P.F.F.H.Q's as Bomber Leader. All proceeded and returned. 5 aircraft detailed for a second attack on CAPENNE C/WORKS. All proceeded and returned. S/L K.J. Lawson DSO DFC posted to the Squadron from P.F.F.N.T.U to take over F/L W. Taggarts crew. F/S V.B. Temple (Pilot) and W/O P.E. 12/07/1944  Wednesday  6 aircraft detailed for a daylight raid on ROLLEZ C/WORKS, all proceeded and returned. 5 further aircraft detailed for a daylight operations against the THIVERY C/WORKS. 9 aircraft detailed for night operations, the target was TOURS M/YARDS, all proceeded and returned. This was a day of intense operational effort by the Squadron, and all ranks and trades rose splendidly to the occasion. F/L R.H. Dean DFC (H2S Leader) promoted to A/S/L. F/S D.C. 14/07/1944  Friday  6 aircraft detailed for a daylight raid on ST PHILLIBERTE FERME C/WORKS, all proceed and returned. 9 aircraft detailed for a night raid on REVIGNY MARSHALLING YARDS. F/L/ R.C. Wiseman DFC was Master Bomber and S/L G.G. Davies was Deputy Master Bomber. Cloud obscured the target and the M/B ordered the mission to be abandoned. 1 aircraft missing from this raid S/L G.G. 28/07/1944  Friday  16 aircraft detailed for night operations on HAMBURG, all proceeded and returned. S/L H.F. Slade DFC received direct hit by flak over target, and dived out of control, with the aircraft extensively damaged. He regained control and brought his crippled aircraft back and crash landed at WOODBRIDGE E.L.G. F/L G.A.R. Undrell (Nav) promoted A/S/L. 16 non operational flights.  Hamburg

30/07/1944  Sunday  13 aircraft detailed for daylight operations in the BATTLE AREA on A/P "E" S/L T.E. Ison was Master Bomber and F/L K.P.C. Doyle Deputy. All proceeded and returned. 4 aircraft detailed for the night's operations which were cancelled. Two of the Squadron's most experienced crews and 1 captain finished their operational tour. S/L T.W.G. Godfrey DFC (61 operations). This crew between them have completed a total of 423 operational sorties. F/L R.C. Wiseman DFC (70 operations ) with his crew have completed a record total of 496 operational sorties between them. S/L H.F. Slade DFC finished with 58 operational sorties completed in this Squadron.
