Flight Lieutenant Mason has completed 34 operational sorties, 23 of which have been with the Pathfinder Force.
This officer is a captain of skill, courage and determination, whose calculated and skilful handling of his aircraft under many difficult conditions have gained him the confidence of his crew. He presses home his attacks with tenacity and courage in spite of difficult and trying conditions. He has a fine offensive spirit and a strong sense of duty, and can be relied upon to complete any work entrusted to him.
He has always shown a high degree of skill, courage and devotion to duty, and I recommend him for the award of the Distinguished Flying Cross.
