|| 26/9/44 - F/O A.C. POPE and crew posted from 100 Squadron.
Word has been received by Mr.and Mrs. . William Kelly, Glanford,
that their youngest son, P.O. Ivan Wesley Kelly, is now officially presumed
dead. He. was reported as missing in March of this year.
He received his training and gunner's wings at Mont Joli, Quebec, and
left for overseas in November,1943.
P.O. Kelly was on his 43rd operation over enemy territory
when he and F.O. Kelly his entire crew failed to return
to their base after operations over Hamburg, Germany.
P.O. Kelly served as a mid-gunner in Lancaster and Wellington bombers
and after completing 13 operations with the R.C.A .F., was transferred to the R.A.F. Pathfinder Squadron,
He attended Mount Hope Public School and Caledonia High School. He was an adherent of the
Mount Hope United Church. Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his loss one sister, Agnes,
49 Barnesdale avenue north, and one brother, Gordon, at home.
