Bar to DFC  13/07/1945  Flight Lieutenant Anthony James HISCOCK, D.F.C. (151450), R.A.F.V.R., 156 Sqn.

HISCOCK, Anthony James, F/L, DFC (151450, RAFVR*) - No.156 Squadron - Bar to Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette dated 17 July 1945. Citation in Air Ministry Bulletin 19245.

Since being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, this officer has completed many more sorties, operating against such targets as Hamburg, Hanover and Munich. Flight Lieutenant Hiscock’s cool judgement and skillful airmanship have on many occasions been responsible for extricating his aircraft and crew from perilous situations.

In January 1945, during an attack against Hanover, his aircraft was extensively damaged by anti-aircraft fire but, despite this, Flight Lieutenant Hiscock flew it safely to base where he executed a masterly landing.

This officer has consistently set a high example of endurance, loyalty and devotion to duty.
