Flight Sergeant Connolly has now completed 61 operational sorties, 21 of which have been marker sorties with the Pathfinder Force. This N.C.O. received no recognition for his first tour which was carried out in the Middle East. In this squadron, he flys with a crew which carried out the duties of Master Bomber and he has taken part in 14 of these missions. He is a reliable and tenacious gunner and has proved his worth during his career in this squadron. Flight Sergeant Connolly's loyalty and devotion to duty has been of a high order and he well merits recognition by the award of the Distinguished Flying Medal.
