CURRIE, George Donald, F/O (Aus 406830, Royal Australian Air Force) - No.467 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force
Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette dated 10 September 1943.
Following text from Air Ministry Bulletin 11391.
This officer, as rear gunner, has flown on bombing sorties against some of the most heavily defended targets in enemy territory. On one occasion, when flying over the sea on a return journey, his vigilance was responsible for sighting the distress signal of an aircraft forced down on to the sea, the crew of which were subsequently saved.

Throughout his operational career, Flying Officer Currie’s dogged determination, skill and devotion to duty have been worthy of the highest praise.
