GOODWIN, Robert Edward, F/O (49147, Royal Air Force) - No.156 Squadron - Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette dated 13 August 1943. Citation in Air Ministry Bulletin 11124.

During the period of his duties with this squadron, Flying Officer Goodwin has displayed exceptional skill as a wireless operator. He has participated in many sorties against targets in Germany, Italy and enemy occupied territory. These have included Berlin, Cologne, Wuppertal, Dortmund and Spezia.

By his courage and technical skill he has contributed largely to the successes achieved by his crew.
